Hi Friends,
I was waiting to give a good post and i have arrived with one.In this post i have decided to share my wonderful dining experience with you all at HOTEL ANNALAKSHMI,which is run by the TEMPLE OF FINE ARTS and the proceeds from this restaurant goes to philanthropic activities. The speciality of this restaurant is the hospitality and the homely food they offer us.People come and serve voluntarily here(men dressed in kurtas and women in saree),the ambience is amazing and you wont feel like being in a restaurant ,walls and ceilings adorned with indian arts and handicrafts and the classical music soothes your heart for sure.Coming to the menu there are two types one is the a-la-carte(selecting menu individually)or else the preethi bhojan(assorted type). The person who was serving us recommended us to take preethi bhojan as everything comes in it for Rs.400 and it started with one soup,a starter followed by small cups of pulav, salad, raitha, one roti with a cup of sabji and a fried vegetable, then came mysore masala dosa with pudina chutney followed by rice sevai(a noodle like stuff)sambar rice ,rasam and curd rice. Finally it all ends with a cup of pal payasam(rice cooked in milk with cardamom, cashew and sugar)accompanied by chocolate icecream.I would recommend you to visit this place atleast once for its nice ambience and hospitality.
Note:All the above food items are unlimited and the a-la-carte items are priced at 110 to 120 rs each

CHEAP N TASTY
hi friends,
If you are crazy about having yummy food at a very low price ,then i have got a solution for you ,just step in to roadside eatery which is located off the flower shop in pondy bazaar just opposite to the BRILLIANT TUTORIAL institution. There you can find people of all standards filling their stomach with the dishes that are mostly south indian(noodles and fried rice are there but i would not recommend that). When you park your vehicle itself a man wearing a red hat asks you what do you want to have??,I would recommend you to have Ghee podi dosai or parotta with aromatic kuruma or kal dosa with vada curry or idiyappam with kuruma. If you eat two items your bill will be with in rs.30/-,then after finishing that for the dessert there is a punjabi kulfi vehicle selling pista, kesar kulfis nearby the tiffin stall and totally you would have shelled out a maximum of rs.50/.So head for it and fill your stomach happily.

"IT MADE ME CRY"
hi friends,
After many days of postponment i finally sat down to watch the movie "TAARE ZAMEEN PAR" nearly two months after its release. From the first scene itself Darsheel sarfary's acting glued me to the chairs,it was all laughter in the start and when the film proceeded i suddenly realised the tears rolling down my cheeks, initially when my friends told me that everytime thay saw the movie they cried ,but i was against their views, but the portrayal of the boy as a "DYSLEXIA"victim and his days at the boarding school isolated from his family had kindled my feelings, adding fuel to the fire the background music and songs which were in pace with storyline added to my feelings.Aamir khan's first directorial venture should fetch him a national award surely and such kind of films should be given a warm reception.Everbody in the film had done great justice to their roles and no scene was exaggerated .So my sincere request is if you have not yet watched the film please go and watch it , the language is not a barrier, everybody can comprehend the story and this is one film which will remain in one's memory forever.

TRIP TO WAYANAD
Hi Friends,
I hope that the post about my trip to ooty would have been entertaining as well as informative. Now moving on to wayanad district,First i want to say what "Wayanad" means,It means "Vayal"(paddy) "Nadu"(field).I would say that nature is at its best here.We started from Ooty after visiting Pykara on 3.3.08(monday) and reached "Gudalur",a small town which connects Ooty with Wayanad. The stretch from Ooty to Gudalur was bumpy, but from Gudalur to Sultan Bathery(a taluk of Wayanad district)was smooth. We checked in a hotel called 'Regency'around 6.30 pm,located off the main road,It is one of the main towns of the district and is easily connected with tourist spots. The hotel was very good with a restaurant . The service was very good,i would suggest you to go to a hotel called 'Kalpakka' located in the main road(pure veg restaurant),The food was very nice and delicious. If you want to eat more without spending too much money, there are many road side eateries selling hot aapam, poori and kadalai curry, but will have non veg too.In kerala you can have good parottas, puttu and aapam.A type of banana called "Nendiram pazham"is very prominent one and dont miss it,the chips they make out of it is a very good snack. That evening we were tired after a tiresome journey ,just went for a round around the town ,had dinner at kalpakka and went to bed.The next morning we started to "Edakal caves" Twelve kilometres from Sultan Bathery, is a very magnificient place to see.we have to trek up the hill called "Ambukuthi"and reach the caves. The trek was steep so please take necessary things to keep you comfortable, there are few shops along the sides selling 'lime soda',water bottles and other stuffs. The trek will be between 2-3 kilometres, inside the cave you can find the ancient stone scripts, inscriptions of animal and human figures etc, these are said to be 7000 years old.The significance of the name Edakal is that a stone is hanging in between two rocks Edai(in the middle) kal means stone. These caves are said to be the earliest centres of human inhabitation, there will be a guide who will be explaining about the scriptures and other things. Please note that you will not be allowed to take pictures inside the cave with your mobile phone. The guide told us that if we climb up still some 300 metres ,we will be able to see the borders of Tamil nadu,Kerala and Karnataka,On hearing that we started eagerly, but that stretch is the most adventurous one where a question about life or death arises,at one point we need to climb up holding a rope ,we can manage to climb up,but on return you will sweat in that cool place and thatwill be the feeling. While coming down via the rope dont look around as you may be terrified by the deep abyss around you, remain calm and climb down from your back.I did not go and see the border after climbing the rope because, the feeling of how am i going to get down haunted me and it was because of my friend who encouraged me ,that i was able to get down.On return you can see several shops selling handicrafts and in a shop named "Kerala Handicrafts" Goose berries dipped in honey are sold ,Yummy , worth buying it.
Next to "Kuruva Islands",40 kms from Sulthan Bathery is a very adventurous place where you will first cross the river Kabini, a tributary of Kaveri. The first part is very deep and we will be reaching the other bank by a raft, from there a guide will take us for a few kms walk in to the forest, where you have to cross 6 water bodies(of the Kabini river)and reach the starting point. We can cross these by stepping on the small sized stones on the river, but some may be slippery and it was fun watching many people slipping in between from the other bank, but you wont feel anything adventurous of this sort initially when you step in slowly after travelling inside the forest starts the adventure.Note: After 5 in the evening entry is restricted.
The final day of the trip was a memorable one and will not be forgetten by any one of us ,the visit to "Meenmutty Falls".Trekking in the first phase surrounded on either sides by coffee and tea plantations made me feel that it will be easy but as we proceeded there were many descending slopes that too very narrow and on either sides were deep abyss.Life seemed to swing from there on,a very risky trek of more than 3.5kms(not advisable to go with family).A very adventurous trek at the cost of life, compulsorily a local guide is needed as you may be seeing two paths before you and you may not know which one to take. After a risky trek of about three kilometres you will hear the sound of water flowing from a height and it is an indication that you are nearing the falls. After travelling a few metres comes the gigantic falls falling from a height of 500metres.The speciality of this Meenmutty falls is that it is a three stage fall ,first one is a small one ,second is big (where we went),the third one is still bigger, all the three requires different treks. The waterfall is very beautiful but extremely dangerous with heavy water currents.Iwould recommend you not to take bath unless you are an experienced swimmer .after spending some time we have to rush back to catch the 5.30 train to chennai from calicut and calicut was 95 kms from there. But trekking back was relatively easy.I would recommend you to carry grip shoes but not slippers for the trek and also water and other requirements as you may not find any shops in between. While returning from falls we stopped at a shop where we had buttermilk and it was like an elixir after that exhaustive trek.We started around 12.30pm ,had lunch at meppady and reached calicut station by 4.45pm.The next day morning 5.30 reached chennai .
Those four days in the month of march will be marching in my memories forever.

hi friends,
Being in the final semester 27 members of our class decided to go for an adventurous trip and the shortlisted places were ooty and wayanad in kerala. The entire trip was organised by my classmates prabakaran and rajasekar, thanks to them.I have decide to narrate my trip in two parts first the ooty part and then the wayanad part, here comes the ooty part.We started on saturday(1.3.08)from chennai by Coimbatore Express and reached kovai the next morning2.3.08(sunday),from there we went to ooty by two tempo travellers ,on the way we finished our breakfast in a hotel called "shri annapoorna" situated on the "mettupalayam road" ,it is a very famous hotel.I was awe struck when i was seeing the pictureseque view of the "queen of hills"and the weather was very cold that the smoke will come out of one's mouth. We checked in a cottage called Moti manor in the afternoon and the cottage was pretty decent, but i would not recommend anybody to stay in this cottage as it is far from the city and there are no good restaurants nearby and the service was very poor in that cottage.A very good vegetarian restaurant named "Durga"is situated near the junction and one can have the food there. We started to the"Boat house"where we did boating for half an hour and took some snaps in that beautiful place.I would suggest you to take sweaters, cotton and other things to keep you warmth even if it is an off season.
Then we decided to go to the "Botanical Gardens"which was located some three kilometres from the boat house,we spent some one and half hours there and took stills at each and every point because every thing in that garden was very beautiful. If you want to visit the entire garden it will surely take half a day for it.When you see the flowers of different types you will wonder whether they are real or a fake, such types of rare flowers are kept over thereand also there are several trees scaling great heights of different shapes.
We ended that day with these two places .The next day 3.3.08(monday)we started to the highest peak in south India"Dodabetta",had a telescopic view of the ooty town and also we saw the "suicide point","film shooting spot","nilgiri hills"etc.we took many photos and it was very cold and i managed it by wearing a jerkin, you can also have some boiled groundnuts which are sold along the sides of the steps leading to the peak. This peak is a junction of the western and eastern ghats ,it is 8,640feet above sea level, the maximum tempearature is 19degree and minimum is o degrees.
Next we went to the "Pykara Lake"on the way to wayanad district. The pykara is the place where the electricity is generated and it is a good treat for the eyes .The entrance ticket is Rs.2/-and it is worth that money.
I would suggest you to buy ooty home made chocolates, tea and eucalyptus oil from the queen of hills ,Definitely this place is a boon to mankind that too for south india.catch you all with the next part.

a please all railway budget
hi friends,
The railway budget for this fiscal is finally out,it has received a lot of apprecation, definitely it is a praiseworthy budget for the people. It has everything in it to benefit the people like reduction in fares, modernisation, easy ticketing and several bonanzas.Let us see what are the plans
1.A very praiseworthy scheme is the introduction of "GREEN TOILETS" at a cost of 4000 crores
previously the toilets were open to the outside and would spoil the station or even if the train is in running condition it will spoil the motoring way, this scheme will be having some storage tank, i think, where the stuff will be stored and then will be drained later ,kudos to lalooji
2.sleeper class fares cut by 5%,first ac fares cut by 7%,second ac fares cut by 4%,third ac fares cut by 2% thats good for the people who have a lot of travelling job.
3.The one which needs a mention is that all the 18000 unmanned crossings are to be manned, after so many mishaps this step will the prevent the occurence of rail accidents,i would suggest that the railway gates through which the people enter through the bottom be fenced so that they cant trespass and meet with an accident until the gate is open.
4.Coming to the security measures it needs to be addressed as it is lacking today.Laloo has planned to install CCTVs .K good but will it be in switched ON condition.
5.53 new trains to be introduced connecting various places, for Tamil Nadu two trains one connecting chennai and salem, another is between coimbatore and banglore.
6.Laloo has tried to upgrade our railways to international standard by making 50 stations with Escalators.
7.Freight charges down by 14%,good for the exporters.
8.Free seasonal tickets for students till class 12 and free seasonal tickets for girls till graduation,Great but why dont u give free for boys till graduation Mr.Laloo??
9.Train maintanence to be given to private parties ,at last laloo has got enlightenment!!!
10.50% concession for AIDS patients and women senior citizens.
11.A new coach factory at Kerala.
12.Last but not the least "coolies"promoted as "gangmen"
but the people of kolkata are not that happy as there is no upgradation for the 100 year old "HOWRAH" station which handles 8 lakh passengers per day,Some say that this being the election year to get votes such a budget has been framed, but whatever be the motive ultimately it benefits the common man.Inspite of all these comments let us hope that all the plans proposed are implemented successfully.

Funny Sunday
hi pals,
Got an idea about me through my first post ah??ya i missed out sports to become famous, but hailing from Tamil nadu think wont get that much recognition.ah coming to the topic funny sunday,i want to share it definitely with u all.here how it all began,it was just like any other sunday ,me gettin up late goin to gym and coming back, after reading the main paper of THE HINDU i took the DOWNTOWN and was just running through the pages ,in one page my hands had made a sudden brake.Guess what??My eyes saw the words "FREE".whenever the natural lens that God has given me sees the word "FREE" the writer of this blog will get excited.what FREE? I too thought it to be a food for my stomach,oh it ended in food for my ears.ya it was a FREE SEMINAR.I decided to go for it as the day was very much boring.I registered via phone and was in search of a company as i thought the seminar will be boring if i attend it solely.I called one of my friends and uttered the word FREE ,he too got excited and he too registered for it.the seminar was about the art of leading a good life by an organisation on nungambakkam.we reached there at 4 in the evening and the seminar was done by a lady of the org .her speech was bubblingand suddenly she asked each one to see some 10 people whom they dont know at all and say "life will never be the same",unfortunately she took a promise from us that nobody will go out until the seminar gets over, so me and my friend too uttered "life will never be the same"to each other and to others.she gave us one sheet and there laid some 30 words without any relevance and she
asked any one of us to say the words without seeing in the same order,we were not ready for that and some other person was called and he was taken outside by that org member and he was back after a short span of time and he managed to say most of the words in the same order.i was able to make out that he has been told a story which would feature those words.at times she will stop and tell life will .........................the gathering will say never be the same.then she asked everyone to say whatever they see in the hall and wrote the objects in a big sheet of paper and she called out one of the members of the org and she was able to say all those words in any order, many tested her by asking what is the fifth word or they will tell the word and she will say the number.ya she was able to do it correctly and we were stunned by it.one man was called to the dais and was asked to introduce himself, but he felt a little hesitant and was shivering ,he was taken outside for a few minutes and he was back, then i dont do where his fear went and he introduced himself without any fear .the time was 7.30 by then.here comes the funniest part the business part of the seminar, the presenter was highly intellectual in the first part ,but too much money oriented in the end,she said that if u want to overcome the obstacles the above two persons faced then join our organisation, spl offer rs 8900/- for two days ,still not satisfied ok 8000/-as a spl offer ,some people were excited about that discount.me and my pal were pushed in to a world of laughter, the final offer for the day that is the first 20 people who registers on the spot at the counter can bring another person for FREE.suddenly a group of people were running over hitting each other to reach the counter for registration, it reminded me of the movie mannan in which superstar rajnikanth and comedian goundamani will rush to buy the first two tickets for the movie chinna thambi for which they will be given agold ring and a chain.we came out with all laughs thinking about the incident.everything is becoming commercial thats the thing truly funny sunday isn't it??????

I too thought it to be a food for my stomach,oh it ended in food for my ears.ya it was a FREE SEMINAR.I decided to go for it as the day was very much boring.I registered via phone and was in search of a company as i thought the seminar will be boring if i attend it solely.I called one of my friends and uttered the word FREE ,he too got excited and he too registered for it.the seminar was about the art of leading a good life by an organisation on nungambakkam.we reached there at 4 in the evening and the seminar was done by a lady of the org .her speech was bubblingand suddenly she asked each one to see some 10 people whom they dont know at all and say "life will never be the same",unfortunately she took a promise from us that nobody will go out until the seminar gets over, so me and my friend too uttered "life will never be the same"to each other and to others.she gave us one sheet and there laid some 30 words without any relevance and she

know me
hi pals
uuuuh!!!!!! i have created a blog for myself THANKS TO MY FRIEND RAGAV who kindled me to start this.on seeing my title SPICES OF LIFE u can consider me as a foodie ,ya true for sure pals.i am a sort of person who want some spice in life yaar ,i dont want to have a routine life, want to explore various arenas of this world.to be candid want to be a famous personality with camera people around me,news channels showing news about me,news papers writing about me.I sat and thought how to become famous ,only two ways are there
1.become an extremist like(osama bin laden, prabakaran)will u forget their names?????but ruled out that as i am not fit to be an extremist.
2.become a politician or enter the filmdom or become a business man.
According to me a politician is the highest post which needs no qualification but i have a fear about my life,i think a film star also doesn't need any u.G or p.G ,i have my own interest to join the filmdom but my family being orthodox bade good bye to it,oh only one way to become a business man,me basically a person who takes minimum risk and dont want to be my life at stake,so final hope is also drowned.
But me now on the fag end of finishing my under graduation with a job in my hand in a top IT company.can anyone please tell me how to become famous ??i dont know how to get rid of this feeling.whenever i see any news channels i am haunted by this feeling.
WANT A SOLUTION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
BETTER IT BE A LIQUID
